Halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles on the iconic Highway 1 sits the Baywood Inn. This bed and breakfast is on the backside of Morro Bay, making it a scenic spot to call home during your visit.
Los Osos and Baywood Park are known as the Valley of the Bears. The designation came from Gaspar de Portola’s expedition to the area in the late 1700s when black bears were prominent in the region. (The original translation was actually Level of the Bears or Bear Plain.) Today, black bears are still occasionally spotted in the area, but sightings are rare. If you want to see great wildlife during your visit, a trip to Montana de Oro State Park is almost guaranteed to provide sightings.
Baywood Inn Bed & Breakfast has four main room types, in addition to accessible rooms. King rooms, one-bedroom suites, two-bedroom suites and pet friendly rooms are all available for booking. Each room is notable for its unique decor and has both a fireplace and an outside entrance. The one-bedroom suites all have bay views, some with king beds and some with two queen beds. The two-bedroom suites include king beds, making them perfect for couples. For those traveling with pets, the Inn has four rooms available for booking. There are three accessible rooms on the property, each with its own unique options. ADA and van accessible parking spaces are available near the lobby entrance.
