Central Coast Classico
The Central Coast Classico is a new, welcoming, non-competitive cycling festival celebrating the stunning roads, gravel, and coastal beauty of California’s Central Coast. Launching in 2026, it replaces the beloved annual event Eroica California, building on decades of local riding heritage while introducing a fresh format focused on enjoyment of our landscapes, and community.
This three day celebration invites cyclists of all levels—vintage bike enthusiasts and modern road/gravel riders alike—to experience scenic, rewarding routes with food stops, mechanical support, live music, and great food. No racing, no pressure—just pure riding joy in one of California’s most picturesque regions.
Routes & Categories
Two route options for each category—both scenic, challenging, and non-timed:
- Jade Route (38 miles) A beautiful coastal ride along iconic Highway 1 and past the historic Piedras Blancas Lighthouse, perfect for enjoying ocean views, moderate terrain, sea breezes and a chill beach vibe.
- Limestone Route (75 miles) A more adventurous option with some gravel segments and spirited climbing—rewarding and arduous, showcasing the rugged beauty, and the rolling back country vineyards of the Coastal Range.
Vintage Category: Honoring cycling heritage (steel bikes from pre-1988 era encouraged).
Modern Category: Open to contemporary road and gravel bikes.
All routes include food and hydration stops, porta potties as well as some mechanical support—no unsupported suffering here. Sweeper vehicle to follow course and pick up any strays.
Why the Central Coast Classico?
After many years of riding these roads, our team knows what makes a great ride: stunning scenery, thoughtful support, good food, and a welcoming community atmosphere. The Classico delivers exactly that. We’re excited to carry forward the spirit of celebration that made Eroica California special, while evolving it into a more inclusive festival for vintage purists and modern adventurers alike.
