The hotel’s decor also reflects a Mexican heritage with Saltillo tile floors, rock fireplace and original folk art. There are also 25 stained glass windows at the hotel, five in the lobby represent the hillsides of Avila Beach. TripAdvisor named the property as one of it’s top 25 for romance in the United States in 2021.

Location

The Avila La Fonda Hotel is located a short walk from the soft sand of Avila Beach. Guests can walk the popular promenade to explore shops and restaurants. A seasonal fish and farmers’ market can be found on Friday nights. A short drive will take guests to wineries in Edna Valley or the historic mission in downtown San Luis Obispo. Or head south to find the only place in California where it’s legal to drive on the beach or take in a show at the Great American Melodrama.

Rooms

The hotel offers six types of guestrooms and suites to visitors. Each room offers luxury bedding and unique design details, along with fireplace, whirlpool tub and bathrobes. The Spa Room and Great Room provide ample space for two people, as is the Deluxe Great Room. The Owner’s Spa Suite and Retreat Room offering sleeping arrangements for four. There are accessible rooms for two or four guests.
