Stepladder Creamery
Stepladder Ranch & Creamery is home to a dairy and creamery located on the Central Coast of California. They make small-batch cheeses with milk from the herd of LaMancha goats and during the goat milk off-season from November through March, making cow’s milk cheeses from milk sourced locally from the dairy science program
at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
Stepladder’s goals are to create world class products and to provide a positive and meaningful workplace for staff, as well as a healthy, sustainable environment for the animals.
Stepladder Ranch was founded in 1871 and has been family-owned and operated for three generations. As a farmstead creamery, they raise goats on the farm and make cheese from their milk, allowing them to manage every aspect of the cheese production. Their delicious, mild and creamy fresh Chèvre is the ultimate representation of spring cheesemaking.
Group creamery tours are also available. Check the website to learn more.
