The Olde Alehouse
Considered one of the best brewpubs on the Central Coast, The Olde Alehouse offers a wide array of drinks alongside a simple pub food menu. The pub is located in Los Osos-Baywood Park, easily found along Los Osos Valley Road at the town’s center. (Just look for the brown and red building and the sign featuring a flying bear drinking a beer.) If you’re a beer lover, this is a destination for sure. Enjoy drinking from 20 taps that feature microbrews from local producers. These rotate constantly, but common appearances include Firestone-Walker, Topa Topa Brewing Co., Figueroa Mountain Brewing, Santa Maria Brewery, Barrelhouse Brewing and Liquid Gravity. The owners of The Olde Alehouse also coordinate tap takeovers regularly. Guest breweries like Lagunitas, Founders, There Does Not Exist, Topa Topa Brewing Co and Santa Maria Brewery have taken over the pub. Non-beer drinkers can enjoy a tap dedicated to SLO Cider, and designated drivers and kids can get in on the action with Whalebird Kombucha. For eats, expect flavorful favorites like pork sliders, nachos, beer-battered fish tacos, pub pretzels and a colorful Cobb Salad. Everything is prepared fresh and simple, perfect for pairing with your brew of choice. The Olde Alehouse is also an excellent venue for hanging outside on the patio beer garden. Tables with umbrellas give shade coverage for long afternoons lingering over a pint or two. The patio also features cornhole and a wonderful outdoor stage for live music. In fact, live music is a huge part of The Olde Ale House experience, with bands sometimes playing several times per week. Bring the whole family — including Rover! — for beer, food, live music and a comfortable vibe beneath the Los Osos eucalyptus trees. This is a place where you’re going to want to hang for a while.
