Alternative Tastes Wine Fest

Join the third annual Alternative Tastes Wine Fest, a celebration of Paso Robles’ rare and remarkable grape varieties, returning March 28, 2026. The Grand Tasting Experience at Pavilion on the Lake in Atascadero kicks off in spectacular fashion with an educational seminar and blind tasting.

Presented by CRUSH Vineyard, Alternative Tastes shines a spotlight on 25 boutique winemakers crafting wines from uniquely Californian grape varieties—with fewer than 1,000 acres planted statewide.

New 2026 Schedule of Events:

Saturday, March 28

11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Educational Seminar and Blind Tasting
This session is co-hosted by Hal Schmitt of Volatus Wine and Carl Bowker of Caliza Winery & End of the Day Wines.

1:00 – 4:00 PM – Grand Tasting Event
25 wineries pouring a rare and highly curated collection of some of the best varietals in the region.

A Note About the Silent Auction:
We’ll be hosting a silent auction during the Grand Tasting. Proceeds will benefit the Flag Ranch Sanctuary, a locally impactful equine rescue organization / horse & human collabatory.
