Catch of the Central Coast is a benefit for the Central Coast Aquarium, a San Luis Obispo County non-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to cultivate a community dedicated to ocean stewardship through education, engagement and action.Funds raised directly support marine science education as well as fund the operation of our public aquarium and exhibit hall. CCA relies on the funds from Catch as Aquarium admission and program fees cover only about 65% of operating expenses. Proceeds from Catch ensure the Aquarium can stay open to the public six days a week all year long, provide excellent care for the animals in our collection, and provide high quality education programs for PreK to Grade 12 students from over six counties. It’s important to note that the majority of the school students we serve are from socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. Proceeds from Catch fund scholarships to ensure a diverse group of students have access to marine science learning at CCA.
