The Rigdon House

Description

The Rigdon House in Cambria, California is a historic boutique hotel located in the town’s East Village area. This house dates back to the 1880’s and is notable for, among other things, being home to the first indoor bathtub in town. The Rigdon family also played a significant role in the construction of Highway 1 between Cambria and neighboring San Simeon.

Location

Cambria, California is an artisan community located south of Big Sur. The area is actually the halfway point between San Francisco to the north and Los Angeles to the south. You will find yourself far away from the big city vibes here. In place of the fast pace you will find one-of-a-kind shops, eclectic restaurants and a slower lifestyle. While you are visiting, plan to spend a day exploring the famed Hearst Castle. Relive the bygone glory days of William Randolph Hearst and his celebrity guests to the San Simeon mansion including Charlie Chaplin, Amelia Earhart and many others.

Rooms

The Rigdon House offers five different room types for guests. The King Room is a 350 square foot studio, perfect for two guests. The King Suites are available as studios or one-bedroom units with 600 square feet, for up to four guests. A Luxury King Suite upgrades you to an upgraded room. The Luxury Double Queen Suites are similar to their king counterparts, but obviously include two queen beds and are better suited for more guests. The Family Suites are two bedroom options with a king bed and two queens; these rooms are suitable for up to six guests.

Amenities

The Rigdon House might be historic, but the amenities are all modern. All guests will enjoy complimentary SLO Roasted Coffee (as local as the name implies!) and local wines. There is also WiFi and parking included in your stay. This non-smoking property does have a firepit, perfect for guests to gather in the evening. And if you travel with a four-legged companion, they’ve got you covered with pet friendly rooms available.
